Barbus Hub hosted a live stream of the first day of the Hill’s Global Symposium, which this year focused on current topics in veterinary dermatology.

The first of three training modules of the Cardiology School organized by the Ukrainian Association of Veterinary Cardiologists, with the support of the Vetmedin® brand, has successfully taken place at Barbus Hub.
Over two days, participants explored current approaches to the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular diseases in small animals. On May 29–30, Barbus took part in the 31st International Scientific and Practical Conference IVC — one of the largest veterinary medicine events in Ukraine.
At our booth, we showcased modern solutions for the care and treatment of companion animals, and also hosted a thematic lecture hall, «Diagnosis as the Key to Treatment».
Throughout the day, leading experts shared hands-on experience on the use of sequencing in veterinary medicine, the role of the microbiome in animal health, modern laboratory diagnostic algorithms, reproductive medicine, and the fight against antimicrobial resistance.

On May 27–28, 2026, Barbus Hub, with the support of Hill’s, hosted a two-day intensive workshop in veterinary dermatology for veterinary professionals.
The event offered two days of in-depth learning, hands-on practice, and professional knowledge exchange alongside leading veterinary dermatologists Halyna Sydorova and Stanislava Korzhevska.

On May 14–16, the large-scale USAVA Congress took place in Rivne, bringing together veterinary professionals from all over Ukraine.

On April 21, the Student Science Conference «Student Science Days» started at the Lviv National University of Veterinary Medicine and Biotechnology named after S.Z. Gzhytskyi, bringing together young researchers to exchange ideas, experience, and the results of their studies.
The first day of the event was highly dynamic:
participants presented their research, discussed current topics, and shared practical experience.
This year, the conference brought together 98 students, who presented their scientific reports. In total, 956 abstracts were submitted, reflecting a high level of engagement and activity among young researchers.
After the plenary session, participants continued their work in thematic sections, where they had the opportunity to discuss research results and key issues in veterinary medicine and biotechnology in more detail.

On April 16–17, the VETSKILLS FELINOLOGY congress took place in Kyiv, dedicated to feline diseases. It was two days of intensive training, clinical case discussions, and professional exchange in the field of feline medicine. For five consecutive years, the Barbus team and the Hill’s Pet Nutrition brand have been bringing the veterinary community together around relevant clinical challenges.
This year’s conference, Excess Weight — Excess Risks, was dedicated to the problem of excess body weight in dogs and cats and was attended by 130 specialists.
Obesity in companion animals is currently recognized as a chronic multifactorial disease associated with an increased risk of diabetes mellitus, osteoarthritis, hepatopathies, urinary tract disorders, and reduced life expectancy.
The event became a platform for discussing clinical cases, modern approaches to body weight management, and effective communication with pet owners regarding obesity prevention.

On March 12, 2026, a guest lecture — Supporting Cats and Dogs in the Fight Against Cancer was held for students of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine.
The speaker of the event was Halyna Stelmakh, veterinarian and veterinary consultant at Barbus Company, who shared modern approaches to supporting animals with oncological diseases.
During the lecture, participants had the opportunity to explore practical aspects of managing oncology patients in veterinary medicine, the specifics of cancer progression in cats and dogs, the role of nutrition and additional veterinary support during treatment, as well as the importance of professional communication between veterinarians and pet owners in complex clinical cases.
Special attention was given to practical recommendations for future veterinarians aimed at maintaining the quality of life of animals during treatment.

On Sunday, August 21, the Barbus company in cooperation with the co-organizers held a Best Friend Day charity event in Kyiv📍
💁🏻♂️The event had two ambitious goals:
👉🏼 to collect UAH 200,000
👉🏼 to find new homes for 70 animals affected by the war
The event was organized with help of two other companies – participants, together with whom we organized a charity fair for animals, part of the funds from which also went to the charity collection of the event.
Such an event was organized for the first time, and during this day we were able to find a home for 12 out of 70 cats and dogs from the Khatul Madan and KZO Bastet shelters, as well as collect 43,000 of the planned 200,000 hryvnias in donations.
We had a great time together with the visitors and their pets and did a good deed 😊
We don’t stop helping and continue to find a home and raise funds to help furry pets affected by the war 🐾

🏆 Last week, the Ukrainian athlete from Kharkiv Erika Molchanova four-legged poodle partner Motek became the world champion in individual jumping in the small dogs breed category at the World Junior Agility Championship.
Despite the war, our junior national team took a participation in the World Cup and showed that our youth and our dreams are unbreakable!
🛑 At the same time, Russian and Belarusian handlers were not allowed to participate in the competition.

These days, many people have been forced to leave their homes and go to other countries looking for a safe place. Many pets also went with them, who also need shelter and help in the new realities of life 🐈🐕
🇵🇱 Poland has become a new home and safe place for a number of people and animals, where the head office of our partner VetExpertis located.
Today the company does not stay aside and actively helps animals coming from Ukraine. Cats and dogs brought to the Fundacja dla Szczeniąt Judyta Foundation and the Fundacja Animal Rescue Poland Animal Rescue Foundation are already receiving help. The company also handed over a batch of diagnostic tests to the AnimalLab laboratory – Laboratorium Weterynaryjne Dr Dawid Jańczak, so that as many animals as possible could be tested for infectious diseases.
➡️ An additional PLN 10 from each transaction in the VetExpert online store in Poland will be donated to the Judyta Foundation, which provides support to homeless dogs.
